Background
For African businesses with multiple branches, maintaining Internet connectivity and communication services between corporate headquarters and remote branches is a constant challenge. Lost connectivity means lost business and disappointed customers. It impacts productivity at the branch, shuts down their ability to communicate by phone or email, and interferes with cloud services
Challenge
An East African MNO approached Gilat Telecom. They needed a solution that would allow them to satisfy the connectivity needs of their high-value corporate customers. Fiber, which connected branches within the capital cities to the headquarters, was impractical to connect rural branches, while a dedicated satellite hub solution was far too expensive.
The East African MNO needed a cost-effective solution, to connect their customer’s headquarters to the 50-100 branches scattered across the country.
The Gilat Telecom Solution
Gilat Telecom understood that only a cost-effective satellite solution would satisfy the needs of the MNO’s corporate customers.
We proposed the Mini Hub, a satellite solution where hardware is installed in the MNO’s headquarters and delivers connectivity and communication services to rural branches. The solution is designed for small domestic networks, using best in breed hardware.
Gilat Telecom provided a fully managed multitenant solution. The East African MNO can now support up to 500 remote sites for multiple corporate customers, delivering up to 200Mbps connectivity. The Mini Hub was designed for easy installation and includes both Application QoS and VoIP support.
To change in the last paragraph
The system is multi-tenant and can the 500 sites are not limited to one corporate customer, the MNO can add more corporate customers to the system.
