Gilat Telecom today unveiled a raft of new Managed Services which will enable businesses of all sizes across Africa to benefit from various cloud-based services.
Today’s announcement comes after a period of rapid growth for Gilat Telecom (formerly known as Gilat Satcom) during which the company established itself as a provider of reliable, fast and cost-effective connectivity across Africa.
In response to demand from customers, Gilat Telecom is now concentrating on its Managed Services portfolio and has developed a number of managed value-add services specifically for the increasing demands of the African Telecom market.
Gilat Telecom’s new cloud-based Data Protection Service secures all of an organisation's critical data, including operating systems, applications and databases. The data is automatically backed-up regardless of where it is stored: physical servers, virtual machines, tablets and laptops. Customers use a customized dashboard that provides a real-time view of the data protection status across all hardware and enables protection failures to be easily identified and correct. The dashboard also establishes backup and retention rules that can be applied to all systems.
The company has built a public cloud in its POPs in Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda where it has local subsidiaries. From these clouds, Gilat Telecom – and its partners – will be providing a range of services, starting with the Data Protection service.
In the near future, Gilat Telecom will launch a number of other value-added services for Africa's corporations including:
- Cloud PBX
- Cyber Security
- IaaS
- CRM
- Managed Wi-Fi.
Asaf Rosenheck, Head of Business Development of Gilat Telecom, said “We are now so much more than a company which provides only connectivity. Our Managed Services portfolio has been specifically developed to help African businesses improve their business performance and security.”
